Social justice is justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society. It is the overall view that everyone deserves equal economic, political, and social rights and opportunities. This view, whilst altruistic, is not always generally accepted and has been met with adverse reactions from people.
Growing up in the US as a member of the minority group was a struggle and definitely a subject for social justice to intervene. Kamala Harris is an American politician and currently the vice president-elect of the United States but her heritage made her a target for racial discrimination in the US.
Kamala was born to a Jamaican father and Indian mother; this meant she was no stranger to discrimination and the difficulties the black community and members of the minority groups had to endure. It became a motivation for Kamala who took an interest in law and order, aspiring to be a force for change in her community.
The United States has seen its fair share of social injustice and social justice warriors as well, in fact Kamala Harris’ parents met at a rally against racial injustice so it would only be natural for her to follow in their footsteps as well. She continued on her path, became a defense attorney and now is awaiting her inauguration as the first black vice-president in US history.

There is a very common saying that “Leaders are Readers” and this isn’t without any substantial evidence. The world’s greatest leaders, the ones who have cemented their places in the halls of history, were all avid readers. They all took a page from minds wiser than theirs and utilized the teachings to make even greater impacts themselves.
